Some dogs and other pets handle sound, smell and visual objects well, which can sometimes take hours. Others do not. My daughter is a doctor in a busy city practice and every year the animals are shocked or injured by firecrackers and sometimes do not come home. I mainly talk about dogs in this article, but it applies to all animals, pets or not. As beautiful as it is for our humans to watch fireworks (I love Disneyland's big shows and am amazed to see fireworks in it), it's not as beautiful for our non-human friends. By placing yourself in the place of animals that do not already speak our language or understand our manners and moral intentions, you can see a glimpse of something when firecrackers fall into their realm of perception.
